Good God: Chris Brown enters rehab 'for serious anger management issues'

Just two days after he was arrested for allegedly punching a man and breaking his nose, Chris Brown entered rehab on Tuesday evening.
His representative confirmed the news to E! on Tuesday evening in a statement.

‘Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,’ the statement read. ‘His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behaviour, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.’

This comes the very day after Chris had his assault charge reduced from a felony to a misdemeanour following his arrest on Sunday in Washington, D.C.

According to TMZ, Brown pleaded not guilty and was released from custody without bail, and he was pictured smiling as he left court on Monday.

Brown was expected to co-headline a concert with girl band Danity Kane at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on Tuesday night, but he cancelled the gig ahead of checking into rehab.Earlier on Tuesday, the star posted a cryptic tweet which read: 'In order to go where u have never gone u have to be willing to go where u never been!!!! #OHB! CBE!'

While no other official details of Chris's rehab stay have been revealed, TMZ reports he has checked into a facility 'in the vicinity of Los Angeles'.

The website states Chris' attorney Mark Geragos brought him to the treatment centre, along with his mother and girlfriend Karrueche Tran, where he will allegedly undergo treatment for 'anger management issues'.

Chris Brown 'facing jail' after punching a man outside five-star hotel in Washington

 

The incident happened outside the city's plush W Hotel

Chris Brown has been arrested after allegedly attacking a man in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The alleged incident took place in Washington, D.C. and resulted in the 24-year-old singer being arrested for felony assault.

The charge could carry a four-year prison sentence for the R'n'B star as he's still on parole for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Brown and his bodyguard were both arrested after the former allegedly 'punched a man in the face' outside a D.C. hotel.

According to TMZ's law enforcement sources, the singer got into a row with a man outside the W Hotel before throwing the alleged punches.
Rihanna's ex-boyfriend did not appear to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol, the website maintains.
The altercation took place at around 4:30 in the morning.

Brown, who hosted a party at the city's Park and 14th club earlier in the evening, was taken into police custody.
The alleged victim was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, though it is not yet known whether or not the unidentified man sustained serious injuries from the incident.
This weekend's arrest comes just days after Brown performed in Philadelphia.
The serious nature of the allegations could spell trouble for the artist, given his probation status.
