According to TMZ, police have discovered surveillance video which shows the incident and Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos won't agree to any deal until he sees the footage.
The original police report allegedly stated that it was Brown's bodyguard who threw the punch, but the minder’s charge has also been reduced to a misdemeanour.
The singer was arrested outside a five star hotel in Washington, D.C. in October after he allegedly punched a man and broke his nose.
On Wednesday, he was allowed to leave his rehab facility in California – where he is being treated for anger issues – to appear in court for a status hearing as he refused to accept a deal to downgrade the charges.
