Nigerian born UK-based makeup artist Adekemi Imevbore-Uwaga has been officially announced as the winner of the Beauty Icon Award for the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Awards UK 2013.
Kemi has been in the business of fashion & beauty for over 10 years with an impressive list of clients. She created her makeup brand KemiKings Makeup in 2002 under which she has a makeup line, teaches free classes for the less privileged and upcoming artists and supports the breast cancer foundation through thePath To Possibilities charity of the Look Good Feel Better organisation.
On receiving the BEFFTA award Kemi said “This definitely counts as one of the best things to happen to me. A recognition of this magnitude came as a surprise and I truly appreciate. Special dedication of the award to my husband, my rock and strength, my children, friends, family, colleagues and my clients.”
The celebrity makeup artist will pick up her award in London at the 5th annual BEFFTA UK anniversary celebration on Friday 25th October 2013 in the presence of an international audience and several stars from entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts in Europe, Africa, US and Asia.
